The Woodland’s comprehensive package of amenities allows residents, whether in independent living residences or assisted living health care, to mix and match services to create the perfect balance of experiences, programs and activities to promote vitality and well-being.
Dining Services
The dining services team is overseen by a talented group of professional chefs and is dedicated to making each meal delicious and nutritious. Our residents consistently offer only praise for their dining experience. No matter which of the four locations you choose, you will find mealtimes at The Woodland to be a real treat.
Meals are provided at the following locations:
The Jefferson Dining Room, at the Moore Center, offers a restaurant-style dining experience. It is open from 7 a.m to 7 p.m.
Varner Hall at Brookview is traditional restaurant style and is open during set times for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Café, a retro-50’s themed diner, serves such things as burgers, fries, wraps, salads and shakes for lunch and dinner. Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is also located at Brookview.
The Java Station, also at Brookview, offers Breakfast and Lunch from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. As its name implies, you can find all manner of coffee drinks, as well as salads, sandwiches and pastries.




Internet
Wi-Fi connectivity throughout The Woodland neighborhood provides internet access.
Watkins Wellness Center
Our modern and spacious Wellness Center provides all you need to stay fit, healthy and active. Residents can enjoy a variety of land and water-based classes. The Wellness Center is a highlight for many residents and enables them to get the exercise they need to regain, or maintain, their strength so they may enjoy life to the fullest.
The Community Center
The Community Center provides a gathering place for Woodland residents and for the community at large. It hosts social functions, speakers, and other events. Smaller game rooms are also available. The large room is available privately for parties or other events by residents or by the community.

Gift Shoppe
The gift shoppe is located at Brookview. Greeting cards, stamps, grooming items, fashion accessories, floral arrangements, chocolates and gifts are just some of the items available for purchase in our lovely shop.
Beauty Shops
“Having their hair fixed gives residents an instant lift,” says Betty Perkins, who has been cutting, shampooing and perming hair at The Woodland for 10 years. “I enjoy being here and listening to the life stories of our residents.”
Transportation
The Woodland provides personal transportation for medical appointments and lab work within the Farmville, Lynchburg and Richmond areas. Independent living residents are charged a nominal fee for transportation services.
